A Special Kind of Sport

Published on April 25, 2008 by admin

Traditional sports, such as basketball, baseball, or football involve a certain amount of athleticism, a level of competition, and a lot of specific training and skill.

Extreme sports take all those components, and involve an added amount of inherent danger or risk, probably some extra physical demands, perhaps some additional equipment, unpredictable environments or obstacles, and a whole lot of extra adrenaline.

These special sports allow enthusiasts to capture a feeling of excitement like no other.

Your average soccer player or football player may not be looking for the same sort of excitement or conquest, theirs is a little different. While scoring a game-winning goal is a fantastic experience itself, some would say that it pales in comparison when compared to the adrenaline rush that you probably get from sky diving or bungee jumping.

Not Your Regular Sport….

Extreme sports enthusiasts have a new way to enjoy their adventures. Today’s helmet cams and bullet cams, the ones that come with mini digital video recorders (DVRs) allow anyone to create their very own extreme sports video.

Capture the entire adventure on video, start to finish. Using a helmet cam allows an extreme sports athlete completely hands-free operation, which is a definite necessity when you are participating in an extreme sport, especially one that may be quite dangerous.

Any distractions can be potentially disastrous, so any recording equipment you use really has to be hands-free and safe.

Prior to beginning your adventure, start your camera rolling, tuck the mini digital video recorder into your pocket, and begin your adventure. Whether you are the king of skateboarding or you are freefalling from 10,000 feet in the sky, you will have an amazing video that documents the entire event.

Share Your Adventure

When you record your own extreme sports videos, you get to show everyone you know exactly how exciting it is.

Using the built-in microphone, you can even narrate the whole episode, which adds a lot to the fun.

Once you record the video, you can download the footage from the SD card in the digital video recorder onto the hard drive of your PC. You can burn your very own DVDs and see them on your television, or you can email the videos to your soon-to-be-very-impressed friends and family.

Don’t forget how exciting it will be for you to watch those videos yourself, you may even be able to fine tune your moves and maneuvers, fix mistakes for next time, and take the next step in your extreme sport by seeing how it looks.

It definitely takes a special kind of person for these special sports. Get some special equipment, too, and make your own extreme sports videos. It’s never been easier or safer than with the newest helmet cams and mini DVRs that are now available!

How to Make a Killer Extreme Sports Video

Published on April 10, 2008 by admin

There are several important points to consider when you’re making your own extreme sports videos.

We have all seen the really bad home videos of skateboarding, skiing, BMX racing, or whatever extreme sport you can think of. You know the ones… with these people that just try to hold an old-fashioned camcorder while they do crazy stunts. Some of these are really bad!!

With a little bit of planning and organization, and the right equipment, however, you can create and record some terrific footage of your adventures. Follow these helpful pointers and you’ll end up with some extreme sports videos of your exploits that you can really be proud of!

Safety First!

Extreme sports, are by their very nature, extreme! This usually means that they are a little bit dangerous or risky. Many of these extreme sports are also enjoyed alone, and you might want to share your excitement with others.

This does not mean that you should be reckless!

Finding the right way to record your adventures can make all the difference when trying to avoid injury or property damage.

Today’s new helmet cams and bullet cams allow for hands-free operation and recording. This means that once you get the camera and mini personal digital video recorder set up and started, you are completely free to do your stunts and enjoy your extreme sport to the fullest.

There is no need to hang on to anything extra or concentrate on focusing a camera while you are midair on a skateboard stunt!! Anyone who has tried this knows exactly what I mean…….

The Right Equipment

Get yourself a helmet cam or bullet cam that mounts securely to your helmet.

These days, thankfully, most extreme sports enthusiasts are wearing helmets for safety, so this camera is a small addition to your regular gear.

A mini personal digital video recorder can be used, and tucked away into a zippered pocket and you don’t have to worry about it at all. Just press the ‘start’ button right as you begin, and you will have a continuous recording of your adventure.

Timing is Everything!

When you are planning to record your extreme sports video, it is very important to take into consideration the conditions under which you will be recording, such as weather, daylight, etc. Although the bullet camera itself may be waterproof, sometimes recording certain activities in the rain may not be ideal.

Make sure you have enough light, too, not only for the quality of your recording purposes, but to keep yourself safe for the entire event.

Something Great to Share!

Following these helpful tips may make the difference when you are recording your extreme sports videos. Considering the right equipment for safety and for quality recording will allow you to have an extreme sports video that is well worth sharing with your family and friends. Getting hurt, or damaging your gear is not worth it!

Take the time to do it right, and you’ll be very glad that you did!

Hands-Free Video Recording for Extreme Sports

Published on April 2, 2008 by admin

Extreme sports enthusiasts can spend a lot of time trying to tell their friends just how exciting their stunts, or “conquests,” are.

Often the tricks and stunts are just too unbelievable, though, to be properly explained in words.

What if you could actually show your friends exactly what you see and hear while you’re doing your tricks and stunts?

A new personal recording device is available that attaches securely to your helmet and records on a device tucked safely in your pocket, leaving your hands free!

Small and Lightweight DVR

digital recorder and camsThere’s no need to control the device, or keep one hand free to hold it.

Your attention is focused on your extreme sport (as it should be!) and once your camera is safely attached to your helmet, and the recorder is tucked safely into your pocket, the camera and recorder do the rest of the work for you.

Just hit ‘start’ on your helmet cam recorder right before you begin, and your entire event will be captured continuously. When you finish, the stunt, your helmet cam recorder has accurately recorded everything that you were able to see and hear during your event.

Watch your friends be shocked and surprised at just how amazing and exciting it is to perform these stunts.

Advantages to Helmet Cams

Helmet cams and bullet cams (sometimes referred to as lipstick cams) are much safer to use during extreme sports than any hand-held cameras and recorders.

Securely attached to your helmet (you are wearing one, right?), these tiny devices allow you to keep your hands where they need to be.

New helmet cams are capable of making high-resolution recordings that can easily be downloaded to your PC. Make DVDs for yourself documenting your adventures, and easily copy and share them with your friends.

Helmet cams allow you to record exactly what you see, without interfering with your vision in any way. A helmet cam with a recorder is extremely lightweight, and won’t throw off your balance in any way, either.

New technology allows a high quality solid state digital recorder to be made very small. Helmet cams have no moving parts, excellent clarity and performance for the visual and audio components, and are extremely lightweight and convenient.

Not only will what you see be captured clearly, but the microphone will record any sounds you hear or make.

Share the Excitement

Now it’s easy to relive the excitement of your extreme sports for your own enjoyment, and you can very easily share the event with family and friends.

Simple downloading procedures will allow you to watch your recordings over and over, which can be not only fun and exciting, but it can help you improve your technique and your moves.

Get your helmet cam today and start recording your extreme sports events. Today’s technology has created small and lightweight helmet cams or bullet cams and DVRs that make it easier, safer, and more fun than ever to record every minute of your event.
